Special Bike Friday only Features

This list shows the offerings that make some Bike Friday models unique.

Xtra adjustable A couple of models and even a tandem are built to adjust from a rider under 4' tall to over 6' 2" tall. This means a well fitting bike does not need to only fit one person. These bikes do especially well when several unknown sized folks need to be fitted. We developed them originally for Safe Routes to School training fleets. Where you need to have a whole class of 30-40 people fitted with a fleet of only that many bikes.

All Bike Fridays are designed to travel. The Xtra adjustable bikes are all Packable only models that do not fold, they disassemble to pack in the BF TravelCase system.

Belt drive A new phenomenon we have been waiting on for a long time. The new carbon belts are clean, quiet and smooth. They only work with hub gears but those have come a long way, too. Those who ride them say something like 'Surreal!'

Hub gears get rid of all the indecision of gear changing as with derailleurs. Their shifters are set up to shift up or down. Easy to decide. On models designed for them, they also get rid of loose chains that derailleurs need. 1,2,3,5,7,8,11,14 gear hubs are made. We use what we think is the best choices of those offered.

Little People are under served by many common everyday items. Not at Bike Friday. We make real adult bikes for inseams down to 14". These bikes are made to ride and to travel. Don't settle for a kids bike.
